Lots of money spinning around – and many of the vans are on the Mid North Coast.

North Macksville is often packed of an evening – as the mobile homes line up for a magnificent spot of a free stop by the river, with a view and a fish in the offing.

Just south, a display of vintage Sunliners was held in Forster and Tuncurry over the weekend, and enthusiasts travelled from far and wide to join the group commemorating the 60th anniversary of the first Australian lightweight fibreglass caravan.

The Sunliner caravan was designed by backyard inventor, one-time car dealer and passionate community worker, Bert Tickner.
