Father’s Day 2018 was made just that extra bit special for Nambucca dad Andrew Scruse this year, when he and partner Jessica Woodhall welcomed their son Axton into the world on Sunday, September 2.

Little Axton James Scruse arrived four weeks early and via emergency caesarean to make sure he made it in time to surprise his dad on Father’s Day.
“Andrew’s absolutely over the moon with his little man,” said mum Jessica.
Born at Port Macquarie Base Hospital weighing 2.73 kilograms and measuring 49 centimetres, Axton is a rewarding bundle of joy for the new mum, who said though the first few days of parenthood have been challenging, she couldn’t be a prouder parent.
Baby Axton is the little brother to 5-year-old sister Brydie-Willow Scruse and the first grandson for Dee Marland, Michael Woodhall and Joanne and Greg Scruse.
Due to his premature arrival, baby Axton is being kept in special care to make sure all is well.
“But we should be home before we know it,” Jessica said.
