And the stakes were high – the fight was on to see who would qualify to go straight through to the grand final.
The first half started very defensively, with both teams standing their ground, not allowing any shots to threaten the net.
So it was nil-all and two clean sheets at the half time break.
The mood remained staunch in both camps, with the prize of a march to the decider on offer.
The deadlock was finally broken four minutes into the second half when Jayde Melville scored off a penalty shot – the ball going straight into the net making it 1-nil Macksville's way. The spectators could hardly contain themselves.
Macksville continued with some great football and defence to deny Bello from finding an equaliser.
The Stingers played an extraordinary game and deserved the win.
Player of the game was awarded to Jayde Melville, who has just returned after 10 weeks away, due to a severe leg injury.
Macksville Stingers women's team will now head to Coffs Harbour on September 15 to compete in the grand final round for the second year in a row.
The Stingers couldn’t be prouder of this mighty outfit.
Meanwhile, Bellingen Victory will now face Sawtell Scorpions this weekend to determine the other grand finalist.
