The Strikers and the Eagles played as if plenty was on the line – it was an old fashioned arm wrestle.
The football was physical if not pretty – as Nambucca and Boambee in turn easily made ground down the park only to be met with stubborn resistance near the box.
It was a battle of nerves as both sides parked the bus, and it was nil-all at half-time and that’s how it finished at the end of regular duration.
The deadlock was finally broken as the Eagles 2 side slotted two in extra time to take the result.
That means the Strikers now face a testing Orara Valley Dingoes next weekend with a grand final berth the prize on offer.
Meanwhile, down the M1, the brilliant run of Mackville Stingers to the men’s 3rd division finals came to an end, as they succumbed 3-2 to a 10-man Coffs Coast Lions in a thriller.
And in women’s 3rd division, Macksville Stingers march straight through to the grand final at Coffs Harbour after defeating Bellingen Victory yesterday.
