The riders from Nambucca District performed well on the day and achieved some excellent results. Highlights were Associate rider Tayla Chapman being awarded the Glenn Brighton Trophy for highest point scorer, the Bill Nelson Trophy for highest sporting point score, Champion Associate Rider, Overall Champion Associate and winning the B grade showjumping.
Jorja Woods rode beautifully throughout the day and was awarded Champion Junior Rider and Kenzie Parkins was the winner of the Associate D grade showjumping.
The formerly ‘Moody Mare’, Snowy, was a reformed character under the guidance of her young rider Ruby Green. The pair placed first in their beginner rider class.
The club had some new members who were competing for the first time at a gymkhana. Ruby Sheppard and Dee-Jae McLeod produced sound performances in the Beginner ring and Eden Whit won a swag of ribbons in the led classes.
The club would like to thank the judges, Vicki Maloney, Robert Bradford and Liz Brook for their efforts on the day and for passing on invaluable instruction to the young competitors. The club would also like to extend its gratitude to all the helpers at the gymkhana.
