All funds raised from this event will go to the Rotary Drought for Farmers Appeal.
The Bureau of Meteorology said the first three months of 2018 were the driest for more than 30 years across NSW and last week the entire state was declared to be in drought.
Farmers in the central-west are battling what is being described as the driest period in at least a decade.
Ritchie’s Liquor Manager, Peter Grace, said the idea of the afternoon was for people to come together to taste some great wines along with good food and conversation.
“You'll have the equivalent of seven cellar doors in one room,” Peter said.
From 1pm to 5pm (depending on the king tides) there will be samples of boutique beers from Coopers and Lion Nathan with wines from Taylors, DeBortoli, Vintage House, Treasury Wine Estates, Brown brothers, Accolade Wines, Pernod Ricard and Australian Vintage.
Sampling plates of meats, cheeses and other fresh products will showcase the variety and diversity of the deli department of Ritchies Supa IGA.
Peter said people pick up an order form when they arrive and head into the venue to sample … and order if they want to.
“It’s the perfect ‘try before you buy’ situation with plenty of experts on hand to answer questions about wines or beers.”
The entry fee is $20, all of which will be donated to Rotary.
There will be a barbeque for those who wish to purchase hot food.
Tickets are available from IGA Liquor Nambucca, and Helloworld Travel Nambucca Heads.
If you are unable to attend but still want to make a donation, you can do so directly to Rotary Drought for Farmers Appeal online at http://rawcs.org.au/donate/. A tax deductable receipt can be issued online.
Come along and support our suffering farmers during this drought period.
