Bowraville Central School kicked off the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s book week calendar early with an absolute corker of a parade down High St.
On Friday, the verandah-post town was treated to a cavalcade of characters straight from the pages of favourite children’s books like ‘The very hungry caterpillar’, ‘The story of the little mole who knew it was none of his business’, ‘Peter and Wendy’, ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ and the ever popular ‘Cat in the hat’.
The theme of this year’s book week (from August 18-24) is ‘Find your treasure’, and encourages children to embark on their own treasure hunt between the pages of an uncharted book.
