Macksville’s town firies have also joined the drought effort.

The team from Fire and Rescue NSW put their hands up to do the clean up out at the Macksville Showground following the VW Spectacular.

Team member Ken Capell said they collected more than two ute loads of cans, glass and plastic bottles.

“I’ve already put the bottles through the Return and Earn depot in Macksville and that was $100, then the second load of plastics and cans raised $130.10,” he said.

This effort adds to the outpouring of community support for those suffering from the drought out west.
