The coaching staff were delighted to lead such a wonderful group of girls, and were proud of the way they conducted themselves both on and off the court.
The girls demonstrated great sportsmanship and respect towards each other, their opposition and the match officials.
The team comprised of Jade Summerville, Izabelle Salway and Jazmin Sutton in the shooting circle; Lacey Wilson, Lily Noonan, Marli Bateman and Raeanne Rennie in the centre court, and Shaina Cohen, Aaliyah Hodnett-Daly and Josie Welsh in the defensive circle. The team was competitive for the entire 17 games over the three days of competition, never stopping until that final whistle.
All players worked hard in defence and managed to gain considerable possession, however, they often rushed their attack plays, making some basic mistakes or handing possession back to the opposition.
There were certainly many moments of brilliance with some incredible intercepts and passes in to the shooters that had those on the sideline wondering how on earth was that possible.
The girls have grown and developed as netballers over this season and appreciate that they can still be winners even when the score sheet suggests otherwise. When they come off the court knowing they have given their absolute best, they are definite winners in the eyes of their enthusiastic supporters.
It was an extremely uplifting moment when a match official commended two NVNA teams, both of which she had umpired, on their discipline. Those sorts of compliments are often better than a win on the score sheet.
