JIM Angel from Goodyear Autocare sponsored a stroke event on Saturday at Macksville Golf Course for the monthly medal and spoon. The day was also the first round of the club championships.

Jake Clarke had a great round of one over par 73 to take out the medal and spoon and also won the A grade competition. Runner-up in A Grade was Ross Donnelly, Jim Wilkes won the B Grade and Troy Grace was runner-up. Bill Parker took out C Grade with Bob Lindsay runner-up.
Paul Donges took out the front nine with Tony Henshaw claiming the back nine.
Nearest the pin shots on the 4th/13th went to A Grade Geoff O'Grady, B Grade Rod Curtis and Cameron Knox won the C Grade and also took out the $30 voucher.
Other nearest the pins: A Grade 9th/18th Geoff O'Grady, B Grade 5th/14th Troy Grace and the C Grade 8th/17th Al Keetman.
Sunday saw the second round of the championships sponsored by Beryl and John Fortescue.
Winner of the A Grade was Gary Clarke with Ross Donnelly runner-up. Jim Wilkes backed up his form from Saturday to take out the B Grade with Greg Zirkler runner-up. Brian Turner won the C Grade with Eric Wise runner-up.
Front nine was won by Troy Grace with Darren Pike taking out the back nine.
Nearest the pins on the 4th/13th went to A Grade Darren Pike, B Grade Paul Donges and Bill Parker won the C Grade.
Other nearest the pins went to Gary Clarke A Grade 8th/17th and Brian Wood won the C Grade on the 9th/18th.
In the champs, the leaderboard has: A Grade – Jake Clarke 155 gross (138 nett), Ross Donnelly 156-141, Brian Burns 157-145 and Gary Clarke 159. B Grade – Jim Wilkes 172-140, Greg Zirkler 178-146, Troy Grace 181-147 and Paul Donges 182-148. C Grade – Al Keetman 189-147, Shane Langley 197-156, Noel Austin 198-156 and Tony Henshaw 191-145.
Saturday’s third round of the championships will be sponsored by the Brunsdon family.
