A 45-year-old woman and her 13-year-old daughter confronted a man as he was allegedly breaking into their house.
Police said the 23-year-old man then took off with clothing and the woman’s vehicle.
PolAir, and Nambucca Heads and Macksville police officers were called out in pursuit of the car, which was allegedly found stopped on Greenhills Rd, Bakers Creek.
Police said the man was then forced from the car and arrested, during which a male officer was injured.
The man was charged at Macksville Police Station and subsequent checks revealed he was also allegedly wanted for a ‘revocation of parole’ warrant.
He was charged with aggravated break and enter, car theft, and resisting arrest and has been refused bail. The matter will go before Kempsey Local Court on September 19.
In other police news
Last Friday around lunchtime, police were alerted to a truck being driven erratically and heading northbound on Giinagay Way, Nambucca Heads.
The truck and its 48-year-old driver were allegedly located at a carpark in Valla Beach after police received more information from the public.
Police said they found a small amount of methyl-amphetamine (ice) in the vehicle.
The driver was issued two infringement notices for heavy vehicle traffic offences and was also given a court attendance notice to appear before Macksville Local Court on August 9.
More drama on the road
Last Wednesday about 6:35am police issued a court attendance notice to a 19-year-old woman after an accident earlier the same morning at a Nambucca Heads Service Centre in which the woman is alleged to have failed to stop.
The woman is to appear before Macksville Local Court on July 26 for not giving her details to the other driver and for having never been licensed.
