The youngster has just pocketed a lickety-split time of 44.25 for a 10km run.
Charlie trains with the Nambucca Scurry Squad and Run Toormina, a couple of running squads with mostly junior members.
His sweet 10km time was set in the Mid North Coast cross country series, where races are held every Sunday at different locations around the Mid North Coast across autumn and winter.
Charlie trains 3-4 times a week and as well as weekly cross country races he does the occasional parkrun at Urunga where he is close to breaking 20 minutes for 5km.
“I coach Charlie and he is the keenest kid I've ever met. His nerves got the better of him in the PSSA cross country races but he certainly has the talent and wonderful enthusiasm,” Michelle Versluys said.
