Nambucca is positioning itself to champion its own Serena Williams or Novak Djokovic in the near future after nearly a hundred kids went home with their very own tennis racquet.
Kinder students at Nambucca Heads Public School and Nambucca Valley Christian Community School each received a free racquet as part of a Tennis Australia promotion to get more local kids into the sport.
Local pros Tony Polack and Damien Phillips were on hand at Nambucca Heads Public to give out the goodies and teach the students some skills to go with their shiny new racquets.
“Tennis Australia also supports the school with free equipment for our PE teacher to teach skills to all the children K-6 in their weekly PE lessons,” teacher Sandra Goodby said.
