Watch the video explaining what five months, two properties and no rain looks like

They say a picture tells a thousand words – and that’s the case with this video from Zara King.

For the past five months, as the drought has continued to bite across New South Wales, Zara has filmed its impact – on her father’s farm at Tullibigeal and on the family’s other holding at Lake Cargelligo.

She recently posted the resulting video to the Facebook group, One Day Closer to Rain, to try and show the reality to those in urban areas.

The video features some incredible aerial footage highlighting just how dry the land is – and how badly farmers need rain.

“It showcases the heartbreaking reality of life during drought,” Zara said.

“I hope this is seen in urban areas to raise awareness of the issues being faced by farmers. Many living in city areas may be unaware of the struggles faced everyday during this dry time.

“Despite farmers being giving drought relief, more assistance needs to be provided to properly address the issue.”
