Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey said a foodie and café culture in the local area is now a red-tape free zone.
“Starting up a hospitality business used to mean completing up to 48 forms, talking to 13 government agencies, and waiting up to 18 months,” she said.
“With Easy-to-do-Business, local entrepreneurs can now complete one online form, call one phone number and open a café, restaurant or small bar in 90 days or less.
“Such businesses create jobs and foster culture - I’m delighted Nambucca Shire Council has gone live with this great program.”
Mayor Rhonda Hoban said few things in life are as difficult as starting a new business yet small business is the backbone of the economy.
“Starting a business takes courage, determination and hard work. Nambucca Shire Council welcomes the opportunity to partner with Service NSW and the Office of the NSW Small Business Commissioner, to streamline the start-up process,” she said.
“It will mean that small business can get on with the business of turning dreams into reality.”
NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Small Business, John Barilaro MP, congratulated Nambucca Shire Council for getting on board.
“As a former small business owner, I know how important it is to do everything we can to make it easier for businesses to start up, operate and employ people and Easy-to-Do-Business is a fantastic opportunity for local entrepreneurs,” he said.
