Pat Smith reports – results Social Bowls played June 26. Winners Alison Kyle, Jan Brown and Pat Smith. Runners-up Hermie Frank, Nan Long and Bev Jones.
On Thursday Minor Singles quarter-finals: Hermie Franks def Sue Newman 25 shots to 14; Margaret Lawrence def Maria Fischer 25 shots to 19; Janice Cedelland def. Yannie Mitchell 25 shots to 24; and Moira Blair def Rita Foley.
The semi-finals will be played today.

Fred Pope reports – last Wednesday’s Club Selected Triples attracted a field of 36 bowlers. The $15 winners were Terry Harvey, P Ottaway and Ken Rostron. Second place $10 winners were Maurie Roberts, Hans Oldenhove and Ken Brown. Third prize $5 winners were Ian Jones, Roger Luff and John Richardson. Lucky losers $5 prize went to Sandy Saunders, Geoff Hartmann and Warren Gallop. Lucky bowler was Geoff Hartmann. The jackpot of $150 was won. The lucky bowlers were Maurie Roberts, Hans Oldenhove, Ken Brown, Sandy Saunders, Geoff Hartmann and Warren Gallop.
Friday’s June Nominated Men’s Triples attracted 60 bowlers. The $15 first prize winners were Frank Wesley, Roger Luff and Jaiden Herbert. Second place $10 winners were Darrell Lawrence, Wayne Flynn and Dave Ogilvy. Third place $10 prize winners were Bill Watts, Ken Summerville and Tony Urquhart. The lucky losers $10 prize went to Maurie Roberts, Bill Miernik and Syd Campton. The $15 lucky bowler was Jaiden Herbert. The jackpot of $30 was not won.
Pennant results from Saturday. Skips name only. Grade 3: I believe lost 2/1. Grade 5: Allan Cosgrave won 27/17, Neil Pollard lost 20/25. Joel DiIanni won 19/18. Points 9. Progressive points 38.5. 5th place.
Grade 7: Owen Smith won 21/14. Brett Stephens lost 16/18 and Joe Franck won 28/14. 9 points. Progressive points 40. 4th place.
Scotts Heads Men
Gary Bishop reports – at the weekend we hosted Park Beach at home for round eight of the pennants. We managed to come out on top 10-0 which returns us to the top of the ladder with two rounds to go. Rink winners for Wednesday June 27 were G Dallwitz, B Killen and P Martin.
Urunga Women
Pat Chapman reports – entries for the minor singles close on July 12 with play starting July 17. This competition is open to bowlers who have not won a major singles, major pairs or minor singles and more entries are required at this stage. The nomination sheet is also on the board for the major/minor pairs.
The Elaine Hetherington Coach's Cup has been scheduled for Saturday August 25 and is open to all bowlers in the district who have not won a major singles or a major pairs championship. This event takes the form of 3 bowl pairs – sets play. Single entry only and a blind draw for teams will be completed by the Urunga match committee before the competition. Total prize money is $750 and entry fee $20 per player (includes morning tea and lunch). Entries close August 19.
Once again we warmly welcome our southern visitors who make Urunga their home for the winter months.

Macksville Women
Rhonda McAuliffe reports – Lyn McCoy won the stroke match on Tuesday June 26 with a gross 111, nett 76 and Helen Ferrero was runner-up with gross 102, nett 79.
Desma Hughes claimed the NTP on the 10th and equalled the putts with Rhonda McAuliffe, 30 putts each. Pat Whalen landed the 4th green for NTP.
The third and last round of the Club Championships resulted in a convincing win for Rhonda McAuliffe with a total gross of 309. Desma Hughes with 331 and Lyn McCoy with 352 were next in line. Lyn McCoy reigns as nett winner on a countback from Desma Hughes, both having 247 nett.
Mid North Coast Veterans
Colin Cutt reports – on Tuesday, June 26, 35 golfers competed at Urunga Golf Course and were able to experience the challenging new first hole which came into play this week. Winner: Murray Dryburgh 40 pts, 1st runner-up Phil Lynch 39, 2nd runner-up Dave Salvin 38 (c/b). NTPs: Robert Reid (3rd/12th), John Hall (9th/18th) and Mike Parker (2nd shot 8/17). Ball run to 34 pts.
Also, last Tuesday, 85 golfers competed at Sawtell Golf Course. A Grade: Winner Paul McElhinney 43 pts, 1st runner-up Alan Wallis 41, 2nd runner-up Michael Bennett 39, 3rd runner-up Dirk Prummel 36 (c/b). B Grade: Winner Francis Shepley 41 c/b, 1st runner-up Wilton Cameron 41, 2nd runner-up Ian Maggs 38, 3rd runner-up Joe Street 37. NTPs: Barry Gentle (3rd), Tony Pye (7th), Rick Filby (11th), Kevin Walker (15th). Ball run to 34 pts.

Jen Forne reports – beautiful golfing weather last Wednesday brought out 45 starters for our 4BBB Stableford Teams Event. Rain threatened, but the shotgun start had all players in the clubhouse nice and dry. Tahlia Waaka and Robyn Jones won with 43 points closely followed by Leanne Welsh and Heather Grey 42 with Lyn Vidler and Debra Gersbach third with 40.
Nearest the Pins on the 5th: Div 1 Glenys Thompson, Div 2 Judy Boyle and Div 3 Pattie Hoschke. The pizza on the 13th was won by Kerry Naylor and Glenys Thompson won the pro pin on the 18th. Next week will be a Medley Stableford on Wednesday as the NSW Vets Tournament is being held, so any help around the course would be much appreciated.
