Playing off a handicap of four, Bruce came in with a score of 39 points – this included a wipe on the 6th and three birdies on the back nine.
Jason Belt (12 handicap) was the runner-up with a respectable 36 points. B grade was taken out by Peter Morriss (17) who had 38 points. Taking the runner-up spot was, Warren Fuller (14) with 36 points.
Winner in C grade was Peter Jones (Mt Martha) (20) with 38 points from Don Atkinson (31) after a round of 37 points.
Ball run went to 32 points with five to collect: Stephen Beales (Clifton Gardens), Peter Moxon, John Patterson, Kevin Mulhall and Les Mohr.
Nearest the pins went to Peter Watson at Sladies second shot 3rd, Phil Mander at the 5th, Sharyn Hogben (Concord) at the 7th, Peter Farrell the 8th, Don Atkinson won the pizza at the 13th, Hans Jansen (Stu’s ball) at the 15th and Ronald Cook took home the money shot at 18.
On Thursday 84 played in a medley single stableford that was the Dolphin Day sponsored by the Nambucca RSL and Midstate Financial Services.
Winner in A grade was Phil Mander (11) with 37 points. Taking home the Dolphin Day shirt was Lillian Cooney (45) after a round of 40 points.
Mike Bennett was runner-up in A grade (11) with 33 points. For B Grade Chris Tinson (18) found 39 points from Urpo Ylinen (17) 38 points.
The lower grade was taken out by Geoff Rees (23) 34 points from Peter Delaney (19) beaten in the countback. Ball rundown went to 32 and to collect are Leanne Welsh, Bruce Berry, Peter Miller, Col Edmonds, Col Dunne and Chris Thorndike.
Nearest the pins were taken out by Ian Payton (Shoalhaven Heads) at 3, Alvin Rapley at 5, Lyn Grose at 7, Keith Elphick at 8, Tim Standing at 15, Col Edmonds the 13th and the money shot at 18.
Sunday and a turn in the weather saw only a few hit off in the Tinson sponsored day of mixed 4BBB. Winner was Gillian Anderson and Richard Martin with 42 points from runners-up Jenny and Andrew Johnston 39 points. Pins went to Linne and Joe Street.
On Sunday afternoon Ian and Lyn Vidler welcomed approximately 160 visitors to the club for the week of veterans golf.
