The accident occurred just after noon on Wednesday as the man was attempting to park.
According to a police spokesperson at the scene, it appears as though the driver’s foot slipped off the brake pedal and the car accelerated forward into the store.
The fire brigade and ambulance were called but the man did not require treatment.
Fire crews were assessing damage to the building and potential safety risks.
No one else was hurt in the incident, acting store manager Craig Swain said.
