Jack Burley took out the Juniors with a good 354g bream and Elaine Sheppard came in the winner of the Ladies’ section with her 614g catch.
The Mystery Fish was left up for grabs and now jackpots to $40 while the members’ draw also jackpots to $140.
Over the long weekend in June, the club hosted the Uralla Thunderbolts Fishing Club with nearly 20 of their members coming along and fishing for bream. Winner on the day was John Davis with his first ever salt water fish – a 608g bream. Dave Whalen put up a brave front for the locals coming in second with Luke Clowe placing third and also taking out the Mystery Weight. Meagan Early claimed the Mystery Length.
Other weigh-ins came from Col Foster, Leyton Hamby, Scott Foster and Buck. So a fantastic effort from the Uralla fellas and the club was thankful for their visit.
The Valla Beach club is looking to return the favour for the long weekend in October (Copeton Damn look out).
The club’s June competition this weekend will incorporate the AGM with a barbecue and refreshments on offer. Target species will be tailor and whiting. Yearly presentations to follow with a meal supported by The Island Restaurant at Nambucca Golf Club.
For catering purposes, all planning to attend are asked to put their name on the list at the tavern, or call Dan on 0400 425-974 or Wendy on 0448 459-373.
