Congratulations to the overall winners of the tournament Jo, Lynne and Helen who won all their six games against tough competition and were the recipients of generous prize money. Kath and Janine along with their team mate Karina came into 5th place with five wins and one loss and were presented with beautiful opal pendants.
The Black Opal Triples organised by the Lightning Ridge Bowling Club makes sure this is a fun time for the bowlers. Before the start of play teams are auctioned off and your scribe has received a report that an astute member of the Urunga contingent (name withheld) could see value in the Jo/Lynne/Helen combination and bought them for $75. Their win netted (name withheld) the princely sum of $662! Inquiries are still being made to see whether any of this profit was shared with the winning players.
The nomination sheet is up for the minor singles and all players who have not won a major singles, major pairs or minor singles are encouraged to enter. Nominations close on July 12 with play starting July 17.
Please make a special effort to attend the meetings to be held after bowls on Thursday July 5 and a reminder to those taking up office to wear club uniform.
