The paint is barely on Joe Brown’s mural and already the canvas at the other end of Wallace Lane is taking shape.
Artist Felice Ferrer-Burton has been spending her days atop a hoist fleshing out the characters that will tell the story in her mural.
“My aim is to spark people’s curiosity when they see murals from each end of the street,” Felice said.
Ultimately there will be four more panels decorating the laneway walls, including three designed by local Aboriginal artists Michael Donovan, Chris Edwards and Alana Shorter.
It is planned to connect them with a series of Patrick Blanc-esque vertical gardens sprouting edible indigenous plants.
Felice describes it as an “art and bush tucker trail”.
