The group had a successful networking meeting at Macksville Café in May, attended by more than 20 members and guests.
“We wanted to try a different format of meeting, so we brainstormed some networking activities as a group and planted them in between some free form conversation time.” said Sara Runciman, Communications and Media Coordinator.
“We gave people someone else’s name tag when they arrived, and they had to go around the room and find their own name, and we also solved the world’s problems and tapped into what lights us up. It was a valuable meeting.”
With the 2017/18 Financial Year coming to a close, a focus on finance seems appropriate, so both the guest speaker and the member speaker will have a women and finance theme.
Guest speaker will be Tania Powick, Certified Financial Planner with 25 years’ experience in the finance sector.
“My passion is to help women get on top of their finances, and really create financial freedom for themselves,” Ms Powick said.
“Women face some unique financial challenges, but these can often be avoided or managed with some knowledge and understanding.”
Member speaker will be Diana Mountford, a Nambucca Valley book keeper with 16 years’ experience running her own small business. She will be sharing her journey to where she is today, a successful small business owner bringing up her family in the beautiful Nambucca Valley.
June will bring the NVWBN back to Valla‘s Headland Café, who will be lighting up the heaters and pulling down the blinds to bring the group another cosy and delicious meal.
The next meeting will be this Thursday, June 14 at the Headland Cafe, 35 Valla Beach Road, Valla Beach. The meeting will begin at 7:00am, with sign in from 6:45am, and will finish at 8:30am.
Tickets to the meeting need to be purchased in advance through Eventbrite, and you can find more information on the events tab on the NVWBN Facebook page.
