Paul O’Neill reports – round 6 of pennants action saw the Grade 4 side travel up to Park Beach seeking revenge for a first round defeat. Parky stormed out of the gates to set up a big lead which the Tigers couldn't reel in despite the best efforts of Geoff McKay's side who enjoyed a 21-16 win. The other two sides going down for a 55-69 loss (1-9) overall.
The Grade 6 side, however, finally got a win on the big board with a 65-46 win over Kempsey Heights at home after Jim Armes and Dean Roe's sides both enjoyed wins and Graham Allen's crew had their second draw of the campaign for a 9.5-0.5 victory. Special mention to Greg Kirkham who played brilliant bowls in Roey's side to set up their big win. Well done, lads. Pennants now takes a two week break.
This arvo as per usual sees the social set bump up the jackpot to around the $200 mark after the ubiquitous Dean Roe took last week's spoils but not the jackpot. Names in by 12.30 for a 1 o’clock start please. Go Bowra!
