Diversions have been lifted and all vehicles, including B-Doubles, can now pass a crash site.
The highway was closed in both directions earlier last night, with traffic diverted via Macksville using the old Pacific Highway route.
Southbound motorists were diverted at Giinagay Way, while northbound was sent via Upper Warrell Creek Rd. These diversions were not suitable for B-doubles and truck drivers were advised to avoid the area and park before reaching the accident site.
Meanwhile, a man has been charged after six people were injured in a crash at Cooperabung.
About 7.30pm yesterday, officers from the Mid North Coast Police District were patrolling on the A1 about 15km north of Port Macquarie, when they detected a silver Mitsubishi Lancer allegedly travelling at 132kph in a 100kkph area.
A pursuit was initiated after the Mitsubishi allegedly accelerated to speeds of up to 200kph in a 110kph zone before the sedan crashed into several cars.
Six people were taken to hospital with minor injuries, including two children, aged nine and 11.
The driver, a 19-year-old man, was not injured and underwent mandatory testing.
He was arrested and taken to Kempsey Police Station where he was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive at speed, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, and P1 driver exceed speed more than 45kph.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court today.
