But not so this afternoon, as the Coffs Harbour Christian Community School’s football team arrived and conquered in their Bill Turner Cup clash with Nambucca Heads High.
Every year the Bill Turner Cup and Bill Turner Trophy competitions see some 800 school teams from NSW, Qld, ACT and Victoria participate, with all players 15 years and under.
Nambucca Heads defeated Macksville High in the first round of the knockout, but were no match for the talented Bonville outfit in the next stage.
The Coffs Harbour boys were far too slick, as the hosts had trouble sustaining possession and building pressure.
Coffs will now progress to the third round of the Mid North Coast-Lower North Coast area, where they will face Bishop Druitt College.
