Paul O’Neill reports – yet another glorious Thursday afternoon for the social set to bathe in and it would be a trio of club stalwarts to take the spoils as Pat Clough, Gino Vitagliani and Graham Allen joined forces to win via the smallest margin route. Locked 16-all on the penultimate end, the lads got the shot they needed for victory on a drama charged final end. Runners-up with a most ends win were Elaine Collins in a triumphant return to bowls, Con Fuller and Andy DalSanto. Jackpot not won so get down there this arvo for a roll and a chance at great prizes.
Just the one game of pennants on Saturday with the Grade 6 side having the bye, a round three clash with North Beach for the 4s at home. In horrible blustery conditions, the lads were thoroughly outclassed on the day by a red hot crew from Mylestom 43-86, who could do no wrong on a very slick 'little' green. The 4s will look to bounce back this week against Urunga away and the 6s will be striving to open their account as they host Port Panthers. Names are on the board and be at the venues no later than midday for a 12.30 start. Go Bowra!
