Matches at Coronation Park today were preceded with a circle of honour by all teams in a tribute to much loved Strikers life member and onetime canteen manager, Jo Deans, who passed suddenly.
On the pitch, the visitors raced out to an early two-nil lead before a Wolves player was shown a straight red after a strong tackle on a then rare Nambucca incursion. The resultant penalty saw the hosts on the board, but a 10-man Wolves kept the pressure on, adding three more by the break.
Wolves striker Jimmy Connor was irresistible up front, terrorising the Nambucca defence, while Noah Pilon was all class, speed and awareness on the right flank.
The Strikers were better in the second half but the Wolves structure held them in good stead, as they comfortably closed out the game with three more goals, including a dottie.
