To celebrate the anticipated royal wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle in May, the committee at South Arm Hall will host its own royal wedding party… of sorts.
Starting at 6.30pm next Saturday, May 19 – the same day Harry and Meghan exchange vows – the South Arm Hall will be transformed into the Ye Old KettelGhay Katheredral for a bush wedding party.
The highlight of the night will be the farcical wedding ceremony at 7pm sharp in which Guardian News’ own Mel Davis will play a leading role, and with none other than Bishop Boyd of McHughes Creek presiding.
Guests are invited to dress as either the bride or groom, or to wear appropriate attire for a ‘royal bush wedding’. The more flamboyant, the better!
There will be a buffet style dinner followed by the sultry sounds of the Loose Cannons and dancing later in the night.
Tickets are $15 per person and will be available at the Bowraville Theatre or you can email Robyn at melvaine@skymesh.com.au or phone Elaine on 6564-7191.
It’s BYO and for catering purposes, the committee need your RSVP by Monday.
It’s set to be the bush wedding spectacular of the year, with all proceeds from the event going back into the up-keep of South Arm Community Hall. Without funding the hall runs the risk of being closed down.
For information about the hall, contact secretary Anama Tesser on 6564-7521.
