Each of the guests was given the chance to identify themselves and their connection with the Nambucca Club and fifteen Lions and past members spoke, drawing from their memories over the half century.
Official guests on the evening included the Mayor Rhonda Hoban, the District Governor of Lions John Davis and Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker.
A huge traditionally iced cake was ceremoniously cut by six of the original 24 charter members: George Channells, Barry Duffus, Neville Piggott, Daryl Shields, Terry Summerville and Tony Waugh.
The weekend of celebrations included a Friday evening meet and greet, the Saturday dinner and an early Sunday breakfast on the Lions Jetty at Anzac Park.
Nambucca Lions President Peter O’Neill in particular thanked the RSL Club for their support and the Bellingen Lions Club and Original charter members for their launching of the club 50 years ago.
