Paul O’Neill reports – righto Bowra, it's here again. The time is nigh for blue ribbon bowls in the form of pennants and this year the Tigers will be prowling for a win in two grades, the 4s and 6s. After claiming the Zone 14 grade 5 title last year, we'll step up another level and host Park Beach in Grade 4 this Saturday, starting at 12.30.
The Grade 6 side travel to Kempsey Heights to do battle on the synthetic in a baptism of fire. Both teams have been selected and are on the board at the club so do the needful and make sure you know where you're plying your trade. Supporters are more than welcome at all games too so get down to the Den and cheer on the Tigers while enjoying the freshly painted club.
Just the one game of men’s singles in the A grade on Saturday with Gav Gallop locking horns with Graham Allen and it was a titanic battle from the get go. Locked at 10-10 after 11 ends, and 17-all after 22, the lads would need 36 ends to decide the outcome with 'Scruffy' taking it 32-24.
Social bowls is on as usual this arvo at 1pm with the jackpot climbing steadily towards the $400 mark. Go Bowra!
