The sun is beating down out of a cloudless sky, perfect show weather.
The dairy cattle are lined up and being judged by Lismore judge, Brooke Hewett, who said the competition standard was good.
Over in the art pavilion people are admiring the works and thinking hard as they put in their bid for the People’s Choice.
I head into the Pavilion and am greeted by the glorious sight of the valley’s rich produce and creative flair, yet again.
The Nambucca Valley Garden Club has a whole wedding party complete with old horse and cart, the sponge cakes and scones and jams and pickles are all there, as are the quilts and the crochet goodies.
There are Lego wonders, woodwork wonders, fat, juicy vegetables and magnificent flowers.
The roses are voluptuous but the ‘piece de resistance’ has to be the giant pumpkin – all 70 kg of it, what a whopper!
The women of the Ladies Committee are serving delicious lunches at top speed and over in the office, Show Secretary, John Harris and Treasurer Peter Trisley have their fingers on the pulse.
Without them, without any of these amazing people, none of this would happen year after year.
Tomorrow is the big day – make sure you don’t miss out.
