Paul O’Neill reports – three rinks of competitive bowling last Thursday for the social set with the trio of Roy Tape, Wayne Thompson and Dean Roe taking the day via the smallest margin card. Ahead 9-2 after eight ends, their opponents rallied to take a 10-9 lead but Roey's crew hit back to win 14-12. Runners-up with the biggest margin were newcomer Greg Kirkham, Pat Clough and Len Grace who won handsomely 22-7. Be there this arvo at 1 o’clock for a lash at the cash.
Three games of men's championship action on Saturday with a slick 'little' green hosting two games of major singles and one in the pairs. Current champ Greg Lamberth took on Ken McKelvie and displayed all the class that got him the 2017 title with a convincing 32-9 victory. Tristram Edwards engaged in battle with Tim Gardner and was too strong, winning 31-17. In the pairs Greg Kirkham and Garry Towner met Roy Tape (subbing for David Johnson) and Paul O'Neill. The latter pair, courtesy of some vintage lead bowls from Roy, held a 22-12 lead but almost squandered it as their opponents came back hard to go down 22-20.
Their is a pennants trial this Saturday at 1pm down at Scotts Head for both the Grade 4 and 6 sides.

Our latest update for our member Terry Jennar who has been contesting the Australian Masters Snooker Tournament. Terry made it to the last 16.
Terry was beaten by a long time campaigner Terry Emmett, but not without a fight.
It seems Terry made a habit of fight-backs. Terry came back from being down 3-1 in an earlier match and finished it with a 61 after four-and-a-half hours.
