Entries came from as far afield as Queensland, Armidale and Taree, with local favourite Jemma Burtonwood taking out first place.
Jemma, who is also the club’s vice president, explained there are very few women’s race events.
“Mostly it’s guys racing”, Jemma said.
“Even though there are a lot of very good female riders, there are also many who love to compete but feel intimidated or nervous about racing. Our event was supportive and fun and catered for different levels of skill, experience and fitness”.
A special thank you to the men and lads in the club, who gave their time and energy to help make the event possible.
