The club will host the NSW Senior Men's Championship, sponsored by Nambucca Shire Council and Geoff King Motors. This will take place from March 19 with a foursomes championship event, then three days of the Championships with stroke play. All players are 55 years and over, and from the look at the entries a high standard of play is assured.
Then from March 22 The Island will host the NSW Seniors Ladies Championship. This will be staged over four days and again, the quality of play will be high.
This means that over two weeks the club will play host to over 200 golfers from all over the State.
Members who can assist during this period are needed – with jobs such as spotting, raking bunkers, starting, raffle sales and caddying.
This is a great opportunity to show off the wonderful golf course at Nambucca Heads to the people from all over NSW. The general public is warmly invited to spectate at these events where the standard of play will be high.
