Coronation Park was great to look at but the grass was a little long meaning runs were hard to get.
The two captains did the coin toss and first time around the coin landed on its edge, so it was done again and on the second toss Nambucca won and chose to bat.
The hosts got off to a shaky start with no batsmen really getting off the mark, limping to drinks at 3/44 with the Scotts Head opening bowlers keeping it tight.
After the break Nambucca finally got going with David Marchant 53, Logan Greenup Stokes 12 and Alex Hull at the end with 17 putting guiding them toward 142 all out.
Pick of the bowlers for Scotts Head were Jacob Pedrola 2/16 off 8, Jimi Allen 2/24 and T Barber 4/17.
Rain started during the change over but soon cleared again with the game evenly poised. Scotts had their noses in front after a great knock from Ryan Gleeson 34 and Lee Pedrola 27.
But after drinks is where the momentum went Nambucca’s way with Scotts Head losing 6/35 after some real pace bowling from Alex Hull 2/17 off 8, Troy Herbert birthday boy 2/24 and Greg Watts 2/9 leaving Scotts all out for 103.
It was a fantastic game as ever between the two teams, and played in great spirit.
Nambucca Heads now plays Nambucca Hotel in the grand final at Thistle Park this Saturday with Hotel challenging for another premiership while it will be Nambucca’s first decider in six years in its maiden return back to top grade cricket.
The grand final will get underway from 1pm at the Thistle Park Turf, Macksville.
