Margrit Rickenbach said thanks to the story in last week’s Guardian News and also online and on Facebook, people came … some to claim one for themselves, and others to help with the transport.
“Some people plan to have them outdoors and others have a space for them indoors,” Margrit said.
It is a huge relief for Margrit and her partner, Claude Teyssier, who is the creative genius behind the bamboo and paper marvels.
Having papered and painted and repaired the lanterns for years, they can now have a well-earned rest, knowing all is well.
So keep your eyes peeled ... you may well pass one on your travels.
And you never know, they could prove to be playful roadsides attraction for our tourists!
