They are a great bunch of club members who willingly help our Nippers crew as well as volunteering their time in the smooth running of our club. To top this off, they are also highly regarded in competition. They hold the Australian title for their age category!!
Our club is an example of unity. We don’t operate as a Senior and Junior club, we combine all our efforts under the one umbrella, Macksville Scotts Head SLSC … and because of this united front, our club runs only for the good of all of its members.
This extends hugely to our Nippers community.
Any help or funding that the Nippers have requested has been meet with nothing but unanimous support. This has resulted in the purchase of surf club branded Nipper-hooded towels given to every Nipper upon registration plus the purchase of equipment to supplement any and all programs that we run to benefit our crew.
The club even purchased an inflatable trampoline for use on those perfectly flat beach days.
Our club, along with the fantastic Junior Club at Nambucca, has even implemented an Intraclub day between Nambucca SLSC and ourselves which occurs twice a season.
This encourages all of the Nippers from any age and skill level to be introduced to friendly competition.
Our next Intraclub day is Sunday, March 4 @ Scotts Head SLSC and will see close to 200 Nippers having fun with both old and new friends, hopefully giving them a taste of what carnival competition is all about.
MACKSVILLE/SCOTTS HEAD SLSC SNAPSHOT:
Strong Nippers program with 110 enrolments and 15 Nippers competing in the Country Championships at South West Rocks next Saturday.
The 220 year surf boat crew are in form and competing against 180 year crews.
Rowing-wise, there is a Reserve Grade crew who are doing quite well for their first year in the North Coast Surf Boat Series.
And finally, a big thank you to Macksville Mitre 10 and owner, Jason Southwell, who presented the club with a new patrol shelter on January 13.
The Macksville-Scotts Head Surf Life Saving Club is thankful for this support.
