The program is managed by AgriFutures Australia (formerly the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation) and is supported by industry partners including the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC).
The AgriFutures™ Horizon Scholarship initiative supports students enrolled in full time study at an Australian university by providing: a bursary of $5000 per year for the first two years of a degree;professional development workshops;annual industry work placements aligned with the scholar’s areas of interest and their sponsor’s industry; opportunities to network and gain knowledge at a range of industry events.
To be eligible for an AgriFutures™ Horizon Scholarship, students must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident enrolled full-time in their first year of an agriculture-related degree at an Australian university with a maximum two-year gap between high school and tertiary study.
Three additional and unique scholarships are on offer this year, targeting students in their final two years of study within a financial services discipline with a keen interest in agriculture.
Applications for the 2018 AgriFutures Horizon Scholarships are open now, closing on Friday, February 23. More information, including the online application, is available on the AgriFutures website at http://www.agrifutures.com.au/horizon or by emailing horizon@agrifutures.com.au.
