The medley single stableford on January 11 attracted a field of 99 players with three grades. Winners in A grade were Stu Johnston [Note] (8) with 34 points from Peter Farrell (7) who managed 33 points. B grade winner was the best score for the day produced by Peter Bush (16) after he amassed 39 points followed by Peter Morriss (17) with a 37 point round. C grade winner was Reg Harris (20) after he scored 36 points just one point from Rhonda Rowe (23) 35 points.

Ball rundown went to 32 points with 11 players to collect. The best in the countdown was Mark Blake, Chris Tinson, John Hopkins, Rod Robertson, Kay McGoldrick, James Phillips, (Ballina) Barry Quinn, (Nudge) Robert Bond, Nigel Black (Muirfields) and John Nettleson (Muirfields).
Pins for the round went to Greg Smith a ‘Sladies’ hole at 3, Mark OKeefe at 5, Drew Glasson at 7, Col Edmonds at 8, Greg McCoy the pizza and Paul McElhinney the 15th, with Shane Anderson taking the very last drive of the day to pull off the money shot.
On Saturday 103 players teed off again in a medley single stableford on a day all should have been at the beach as our usual breeze did not arrive.
Players found the conditions very humid – one player brought a wardrobe of shirt changes and used every one off them!
Winner in A grade was Peter Farrell improving on his form with a round of 38 points after getting the better count back from Stuart Garvey (10). In B grade Phil Frost (14) also a round of 38 points to get the count back from Alan Harris (14) from Toukley club with a round of 38 points, also, Peter Morriss and Dennis Ashton. Best score for the round was a C grader and that was Michael Stone (28) NTPG club with 42 points with Dale Hanson (24) 40 points.
Missing out for the vouchers was Barrie Nicholson, Phil Woodgate and Kevin Mulhall all with rounds of 37 points.
Ball rundown for the round went to 32 with just the two to collect and they are Greg Smith, and Robert Reid.
Pins for the day went to Mark McLaren, Andrew Bagust, Hans Janson Greg Smith, Michael Gordon at the 13th and 15th with Peter Dawe the lucky money shot winner.
Island Sunday was, as always, a 4 BBB mixed event that had 47 starters making one swinger for the day.
Finishing on top of the heap we had Glenys Thompson and Trevor Peck after they scored 41 points. Then six pairs all with 40 points, best count back going to Richard Martin and Gillian Anderson, then Paul McElhinney and Heather Gray to round out the vouchers.
The following will get a ball each for their efforts - Uri Ylinen and Morann Paterson, Shane Anderson and Nicole Purser, Louise Ainsworth and Phillip Woodgate Betty Stockham and Geoff Wilson.
Others in the ball rundown were Rod and Robin Robertson, Andrew and Jenny Johnson, who also sponsored the day, and Maxine Townsend with Jason Belt who picked up the last balls.
Pins for the round went to Rhonda Rowe and Jason Belt at the 5th, Gillian Anderson took the 18th and 13th, with Barry Thomas also at 18th.
This Saturday we return to normal program with the Monthly Medal stroke round and Sunday is the River Sunday Mixed event with a novelty effect in the scoring.
Coming up on Australia Day we have a novelty four- person Ambrose that will include a range of Ocker themes thrown in just to give it the right Aussie feeling.
