CLUB stalwarts Grant Collison and Tyler Searle shared the honours at the Macksville Sea Eagles rugby league club’s presentation night.

With over 100 players and supporters making their way to the Macksville Ex-Services Club, the night was a great success for the club and an indication of the value it holds in the Macksville community.
First grade captain Collison took out the much coveted Club Player of the Year Award, a just reward for his leadership on and off the field and his skilful play throughout the season.
Collison also took out the Brian Cockbain Award for best forward in first grade, the leading try scorer in first grade and the Bob Lonergan Memorial Award for First Grade (this award being based on the referees’ points allocated to players after each game).
Searle challenged Collison in the awards list, taking home the Players’ Player award for first grade and Best and Fairest player in first grade based on points awarded by the supporters each week.
Lleyton Doolan showed how important he was to the club's Under 18s, taking out the Albert Donovan Memorial Award for that grade and the Bernard Laverty Memorial Award for most courageous player, as well as the Players’ Player award.
Cameron Cohen was the star of the reserve grade, winning the Jack Russell Memorial Award, the award for Best and Fairest and Most Consistent in that grade as well as the club's leading point scorer.
The Leaguetag Best and Fairest went to Kerry Jarrett while the referees’ award was taken out by Nicole Welsh, and Laura Peisley was the leading try scorer.
Todd Bartlett, manager for the Under 18s, assistant coach and blue shirt for all grades during the year took out the Club Person of the Year Award, while coach Garry Jarrett named Clint Lavender and Billy Cockbain as Rookies of the Year.
The President’s Award went to the League Tag squad for their improvement over the year and their commitment to the club.
The following Friday saw the Ex-Services Club present their sponsorship cheque to Macksville Sea Eagles Club president Bernie Spear.
The support of the Services Club and the district comunity is integral in the Eagles' continued existence and the rugby league football club greatly appreciates the money.
Meanwhile, the brightest female talent in Country Rugby League will have the opportunity to test themselves on a national stage as part of a number of exciting announcements relating to the women’s game.
Country Rugby League will field a side in the new National Championships, which will take place over three days in June and feature over 120 players from across Australia.
