All the women took advantage of the relaxed social atmosphere to chat over a meal with new friends and old, and to share their business ideas and success from 2017 and beyond.
Lynette Howle, NVWBN Event Coordinator, spoke for everyone when she said, “Thank you for a wonderful Christmas party.
My cup has been a little empty and now feels full again. The amazing support and friendship by everyone just makes me smile. Have an amazing Christmas and I'm excited to see what 2018 brings.
Over the past four months, NVWBN has had the pleasure of hosting three guest speakers: Kerry Grace, CEO of Regional Development Australia; Marilyn Breen, Secretary of the Macleay Business Women’s Network; and Councillor Rhonda Hoban, Nambucca Shire Mayor.
Each of these speakers has bought a unique perspective on what it is like to be a working woman on the mid-north coast, and provided great value to meeting attendees.
2017 might be nearly over, but NVWBN committee members have been busy brainstorming ideas for ways to make 2018 great.
The group’s aim for next year will be to inspire, support and empower more women in the Nambucca Valley, and to help develop the amazing skills and talents that sometimes slumber unseen and unrecognised due to lack of confidence and connection.
Trudi Hayes, NVWBN Tech bird, summed it up perfectly in her closing speech for the night: “As the new bridge reaches completion, and the old bridge continues to serve the locals, our dream is to be the bridge that connects the women in this valley to each other and the world.”
“Our first meeting for 2018 will have a business and marketing focus, with free business mentoring and a digital marketing member speaker,” said Elizabeth Bond, NVWBN President. “We’ve also got something exciting cooking for International Women’s Day in March, and a couple of inspiring guest and member speakers already lined up. It’s going to be a great year!”
