The fire path ripped through Limeburners Creek National Park between Crescent Head and Port Macquarie destroying coastal heath habitat.
Fire crews and volunteers are now on scene assessing the damage and relocating affected wildlife.
A thank you for volunteers will be held at Settlers Inn, Port Macquarie from 4pm Saturday, December 16.
