The NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard has announced that a HealthOne facility will be the next item on a growing list of improvements being carried out on the town’s health infrastructure.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro and Health Minister Brad Hazzard announced the NSW Government is building eight new one-stop shop health facilities as part of a $100 million investment in out of hospital care in NSW.
Mr Barilaro said the HealthOne facilities bring together General Practitioners with community health and other health professionals in multidisciplinary teams under the one roof.
“The NSW Government is delivering on our election promise to provide state-of-the-art health facilities and services for patients both inside and outside of hospital,” Mr Barilaro said.
“These one-stop shops will not only make seeing doctors and other health professionals easier by bringing services closer to home, but will greatly improve health outcomes in vulnerable communities, particularly in regional and remote areas.
“These eight new facilities are in addition to 12 existing projects that fall under the HealthOne Strategy. Together these span across nine local health districts,” he said.
New HealthOne facilities will be built at Bowraville, Port Stephens, Evans Head, Dapto, Ulladulla, Orchard Hills, Buronga/Dareton, and Green Square in Sydney.
The Nambucca Heads HealthOne facility will also undergo refurbishment and enhancement under the scheme.
Up to $5 million will also be spent on upgrading information and communications technology and software in Far West NSW, the Mid North Coast, Nepean Blue Mountains, Northern NSW and South West Sydney local health districts.
