In the men’s, Col Visser came in the winner with his 426g flathead, followed by Mark Strevens’ flattie and Dave Whalen weighing in a whiting for points.
The points board is up at the tavern and a big thank you to Frog for his upkeep of same. Cheers, Frog.
In the juniors, Kayla Quee weighed in a whiting for points but there were no place-getters for flathead.
There will be plenty of prizes going this coming month people so get in and have a go.
Evie O’Brien weighed in a 344g flathead to win the minnows section with little sister, Rosie, also catching a nice flathead and coming in second. Well done, girls!
The Mystery Fish was tailor, which didn’t go off so it now jackpots to $40, along with the members’ draw, which stands at $80 – sorry Ian Elliott – maybe next time.
In the bass section, Dan Clowe took out first place with his five fish submitted up to 45cm – just beating Dave Whalen (The Bass Assassin) with his five up to 44cm.
And coming up the ranks were Dean Holmes, Luke Clowe and Frog with their submissions not quite keeping up with the other two.
First prize in all sections this month were some great fishing reels from the Boatshed Café, while second place-getters were all happy to receive vouchers for their efforts.
The club’s December comp is on from Friday to Sunday, with the Christmas party after the weigh-in.
Should be a pretty good party so make sure you are a financial member and your name is on the board at the Valla Tavern.
Weigh-in is at the tavern from 1.30 until 2pm.
Target species are pearly and whiting with great prizes up for grabs. Every child who weighs in a fish will win a prize.
Safe fishing and see you at the tavern on Sunday. For any further information, contact Dan Clowe on 0400 425-974 or Wendy Streatfield on 0448 459-373.
