The State Cup is held each year in Port Macquarie with teams from all over NSW participating.
The Falcons have one of the largest and certainly most loyal band of grey and green supporters who cheer on every game, making it an awesome atmosphere for each team to be part of.
A big thanks to Falcons local referees who travelled to Port and did a great job officiating games. They were Josh Fitzgerald, Nicholas Willer and Colin Thompson.
After last year’s State Cup success in winning the Bowl division (2nd division) and finishing ninth in NSW, the Falcons 20s women’s goal was to go even further in 2017 and compete in the Championship Division (1st Division).
To reach the Championship the team had to finish in the top two in their pool after day one. The team played tough, smart and physical touch to finish second in their pool and progress to the Championship series. First goal achieved.
The team’s second goal was to reach the finals series in the Championship which meant finishing in the top three in their pool of five. All of the players gave their all in some very close and intense games against strong and seasoned opponents.

The girls finished third in their pool after day two, so another goal was ticked.
This put the side into the top six teams in NSW in the under 20s division. A fantastic achievement for a team with an average age of 16 years.
Next it was onto the Championship quarter-final against Parramatta, a classy and older aged team. The girls gave their all but were unable to deny the Eels.
Coaches Michael Ronan, Craig Englert and manager Megan Ronan were absolutety blown away by the quality of touch, team harmony and commitment.
Bring on, 2018.
