The year commenced with Thea Morrison’s 90th birthday, followed halfway through the year by Ron Neaves’ 80th, and finishing up with two 70th birthdays for Lorraine Edmondson and Bob Garraway.
Formed under the National Heart Foundation Walking banner and with the support of Mid North Coast Health District, the Macksville Movers have been walking together now since the start of 2012 and have made many strong friendships.
During that time, people have come and gone, health issues have been challenged and overcome and lots of good times have been enjoyed.
Walking is one of the best forms of exercise for good heart health, physical and mental benefits, not to mention the social aspects of exercising in a group. If you want to know more about walking, visit the National Heart Foundation website on www.heartfoundation.org.au/walking.
Macksville Movers walk regularly on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from Ferry Park in Macksville and once a month in Nambucca. We would really love more people to join us. We welcome men and women, all ages and abilities. Some walk faster or slower, some walk part of the way, some walk further, but we all enjoy getting together regularly for a chat and some exercise.
