The well-respected and long-serving Nambucca Heads GP, Dr Paul Foster, will start seeing patients at Peachtree from Monday, November 20.
Dr Foster joins the four other established doctors currently at Peachtree.
Dr Mark Smith, who used to work side-by-side Dr Foster, is delighted to have his friend and colleague joining the clinic.
“We’re basically putting the band back together,” Dr Smith said.
Dr Foster said he decided to make the move four weeks ago after feeling isolated as the only GP practising at his current clinic.
I need to be in a harmonious group practice—it’s a better way to practise medicine for me.

“We’ll be covering and supporting each other which is the best thing for patient care.
“Plus we’re able to consult each other for a second opinion.”
Dr Foster said that his departure from his current clinic was regrettable.
“It’s sad for the Valley,” Dr Foster said.
“But that’s not enough reason for me to stay there.
“Most people I tell are astounded I’m going but they tell me that they’re coming with me.”
Peachtree staff are currently in the process of facilitating the smooth transition of patient records.
Dr Smith said that with Peachtree in full-swing, the practice will soon start to receive and train up new registrars and medical students.
In fact, they will take on their first registrar in February 2018.
“The entire Valley is short of doctors,” Dr Foster said.
“So hopefully with this training, some of them will stick around.”
