Following yesterday’s severe thunderstorm warnings, the Nambucca Valley was hit with thunder and heavy rain from around 6.30pm last night (6th).
Macksville was among parts of the region also lashed with marble-sized hailstones, leaving lawns dotted in a blanket of white.
But this wild weather set a beautiful backdrop for keen photographers who caught the storm on camera at Yarrahappini, Macksville, Nambucca Heads and Valla Beach.
Local photographer Tara Gowen caught the amazing storm cell as it moved over the region near Mount Yarrahappini. Though an imposing site, the impressive dark cloud formation was a brilliant example of nature putting on a show.
A spectacular lightning display was also captured through the lens as the sky came alive with electricity.
