AT THE same time that agriculture has been identified as the fastest growing industry in Australia, new exhibitors are continuing to book last minute spaces at ProAg 2017, which opens on Friday at Macksville Showground.
While the Showground site was initially full at 110 exhibitors, additional spaces have been created at the western side of the site to fit in new exhibitors keen to display their goods and services at the premier primary industry field days on the Mid North Coast.
Additional spray rigs, nursery items, and a display of veteran and vintage machinery are among the final exhibitors to join the expanding list for ProAg 2017.
This comes as national accounts figures released this week reveal agriculture is now the nation’s biggest contributor to gross domestic product (GDP) and the fastest growing sector, contributing 0.5 percentage points to the Australian national total growth of 1.9 per cent over the past year.
ProAg is now being operated by Fairfax Rural Events, and joins an already impressive stable of agricultural field days for the group, who own and manage CRT FarmFest in Toowoomba, and the world-renowned Commonwealth Bank AgQuip at Gunnedah, the largest agricultural field days in Australia.
ProAg is focused on sales results for exhibitors, and re-establishing it as the ‘must see’ event on the Mid North Coast. Gates open from 9am to 4pm Friday and Saturday, with car parking open from 8am at the site, on Rodeo Dr, just off the northern approach to the Nambucca River bridge.
While areas of Australia have been in the grip of drought, the Nambucca Valley and surrounding areas has received good rainfall leading up to ProAg, leaving exhibitors confident this will translate into an influx of visitor numbers and cash flow.
The market is strong for beef producers with cattle prices remaining buoyant at the adjacent saleyards.
Visitors will see a high quality range of machinery, livestock and agricultural related products from exhibitors on display at ProAg this year, and the Lifestyle Pavilion is proving to be a feature of interest for many.
From tractors to motor vehicles, horses to homes, ProAg is ready and raring to go.
