In second place was N Davidson, P Batholomew and G Downie from Sawtell. Third was R Trump, B Everson and D Forrest from Hat Head. Fourth was J Reynolds, T Webber and Hagop, a composite team.
The best Sunday morning card went to K Langrigan, G Ireland and R Wilkins from South Grafton Ex-Services. The best Sunday afternoon card was won by H Boston, G Davies and M Ahoy, a composite team.
The Bowling Club would like to thank the loyal sponsors for their patronage again this year and also all the teams who came along to make it a success. Also the good team of volunteers who assisted with the running of the carnival and to Donna’s Place for providing lunch both days.
On Thursday there was a good field for jackpot bowls which included seven visitors. The winners were decided by the best winning margin which went to a pairs game of Cliff Yager and Dale Down. In second place was J Wells, S Goodwin and Roy Mason, third was N Welsh, Joe Welsh and Brian McPherson. The jackpot was also won by Stan Moc and Frank Davies.
The results of the handicapped singles: Roy Mason def Harry Boston 200/186, Cliff Yager def Mick McKay 200/174, Greg Burton def Max Turner 200/193, Allan Clarke def Brett Liddell 200/1583, Mal Duffy def Ida Down 200/187. There was one game of Mixed Pairs Championships played with new members to the club Donna and Gary Soyka defeating Thelma and Kevin Scott 30/9.
